Once upon a time, there was a peaceful world called Sarasaland. In this world there were four Kingdoms named Birabuto, Muda, Easton and Chai. One day the skies of Sarasaland were suddenly covered by a huge black cloud. From a break in this cloud, the unknown Space Monster Tatanga emerges to conquer Sarasaland.

Tatanga hypnotized the people of all the kingdoms so he could control them in any way he wanted to. In this way he took over Sarsaland. And now he wants to marry Princess Daisy Of Sarsaland and make her his Queen.

Mario, a plumber from Earth, had heard of these events from whispers he heard through the drainpipes as he worked. One day when he was unblocking one such drain pipe he sent his brother Luigi to order some Pizza.

“I just love Pizza!” said Mario to nobody in particular. Then all of a sudden his plunger got stuck. He pulled and he pulled and he pulled. Finally it came loose but the with the force of the pressure Mario was sucked down into the pipe!

It was a special pipe; a magic pipe that lead to Sarasaland!

“Mama-mia!” he cried, “Not again!” as this had happened to him three times before. But he had never been down one alone, not without Luigi. “This must be Sarasaland!” he thought. But could he save the princess on his own?

Mario had emerged in the kingdom of Birbuto, a land full of sand, Sphinx and pyramids. From here he remembered he need to get to the Chai Kingdom where the Princess was being held.

The first creature he met up with on the sands of Birbuto appeared to be a small Mushroom creature with large teeth guarding one of the strange floating boxes, called Mystery Blocks he always found when he arrived in the Pipe-Worlds. He knew that if only he could hit the box from below it would probably let loose something that could be of benefit. Mario charged forwards at the Mushroom creature and jumped onto its head before he could be bitten squashing it flat before running up to hit the box. A Super Mushroom emerged from the box which he caught turning him into Super Mario.

“Watch out Sarsaland, here comes Super Mario!!!” he shouted at the top of his voice.

As he journeyed on through the sandy terrain Mario noticed many more pyramids and lots of these green pipes everywhere he went. He saw many more of the Small Mushroom creatures. Out of his pocket he pulled out a small book he had found lying in one of the pipes that was titled “A Pipe Warpers Guide to Sarasaland” which he opened and looked up the Enemies section.

“Ah!” said Mario, “These are Chilbibo Mushrooms, also known as Goombas. If one of these bites me I be a goner! Mama-mia!”

After managing to avoid several more Goombas he picked up a trail of gold coins which were just lying about. As he climbed over one of the pipes nearby he saw it lead under the ground so decided to go down it. Down the pipe he found a room full of the golden coins. “This must be a Treasure Room”, he thought and began collecting coins whilst singing. “Swing your pants, step side to side. Dah, Dah-dah-dah, Dah-dah. Do the Mario! Just like that.“ Again and again.

When he emerged he found another of the Mystery Blocks which this time contained a gold coin.

After overcoming a few more Goomba and discovering even more coins he discovered he could bash some of the rocks just by hitting them like the Mystery Blocks. He came to a drop with a line of coins downwards, so being the money grabbing man that he is he jumped and dropped down, fortunately landing right next to a the pit in the ground. On his left hand side was a Mystery Block so Mario jumped onto it trying to get rid of some of the breakable blocks above so it would make it easier. But every time he hit a block a coin appeared!

“I can buy lots of things to assist me in helping Princess Daisy and maybe even buy her some flowers for when I rescue her!”
