Legend of the Sun God By Fali Long, long ago, the many Gods of the Elements were worshipped on the planet of Usenet. Specifically, in alt.flame, the Sun God was worshipped by a cult of priests of Fire. Things were peaceful for a while, and the Sun God became more and more trusting of the Humans. Then, one day, a powerful Priest strove to become a Sun God himself and backstabbed the Sun God, stealing his power to take it for his own. The angry Sun God attempted to fight the Priest and his followers off, but, lacking much power in his humanoid form, He was defeated. With only a small amount of power left to Him, the Original Sun God left the planet, becoming a small star- only a mile long and less that in width, right outside the Usenet planet. From there, for a year and half, the star sat there. And slowly, the Star grew more powerful from His (the Sun God) own power again. The Priest took the name of the "Sun God" in place of the Elemental who deserved it and reigned in that power for a year. Then, midway through the next year, the Original Sun God's Star had grown powerful enough to go by the Sun God's plan. The Sun God intended to let loose with all of his remaining power in a small Supernova which would destroy not only the evil Priest, but also the rest of the Usenet planet. Several of the other elements pleaded with the Sun God to stop, but the Sun God refused. Finally, the Moon God made his decision. With the assistance of the Wind Goddess, the Moon God made a plan to stop the Sun God's angry fires by enclosing the Sun God inside of a new Moon. So, the day came when the Sun God began to let loose His flames onto the Usenet planet. The very heat of the flames themselves hit the alt.flame area of the Usenet planet, killed every living being there, and turned it into a ruined desert. Before the flames could get very far, however, an unnatural Wind flew through the vacuum of Space itself and turned the fire. The confused Sun God did not realize He was being herded by the Wind Goddess until She had enclosed all of His being inside a small area. The Moon God used all of his power at that moment to form a barrier around the Sun God's flames, a New Moon hanging over the Usenet planet, and to put a race of people with His intelligence and knowledge onto the New Moon so they could keep the Sun God at bay for centuries. These were the first Lunarians. These first Lunarians, among which was the Moon God Avatar (in one of his early forms), established a high-technology civilization on the surface of the planet. They breeded like Humans, ate various fruits and vegetables from the Usenet planet, and established a single democratic government for their people. Millennia passed, and still these Lunarians managed to thrive. Until one day, they figured out how to give their computers intelligence. That was their fatal mistake. Computer-run Gears, Robots, and other assorted combat technology fought very suddenly and very fiercely against its creation, the Lunarians. With the help of the current Moon God Avatar, a single family escaped the cities before the other Lunarians were ultimately destroyed. The Moon God Avatar realized the family that had escaped was not enough to keep the Sun God's power at bay; already, He could feel the Sun God's rage building anew. With His final strength, He once again created a new race of Lunarians... but these ones had a fatal flaw. Most of them did not have the collective power or intelligence to establish such powerful technologies so quickly or keep the Sun God at bay for that matter. Instead, many of them were simply as intelligent and powerful as any normal Human being while others had intelligence and power that would have rendered them geniuses in the original Lunarian civilization. The more intelligent, more powerful individuals were dubbed by the next Moon God Avatar "Innocents" for their inability to grasp the evils of human nature. While most of the new Lunarians could not alone keep the Sun God trapped inside the Moon, even a single Innocent could hold the Sun God back for as long as a century. (Though most Innocents had no idea what an Innocent was, let alone that they were Innocents themselves- later on, that was the case with Relm.) The Innocents, however, were dying. They did not fit in with the typical Lunarian and often were ridiculed by those who did not understand them. Many were simply murdered, while others did not recieve proper medical care when ill by untrusting doctors, while still others did not understand the intensity of their abilities, became depressives, and committed suicide. This left very few by the time Erik was chosen as the new Moon God Avatar. By the time the Clone Wars begins, the only one left was an unsuspecting Relm Arrowney. And soon, she was dispatched by Mr. X. The Moon God Avatar, Erik, knew there was only one hope left for the Usenet planet now. That was in the original family who had escaped the original Lunarian civilization when its technology was destroying it. Members of the family had since become part of the second Lunarian civilization. Due to mating between the two forms of Lunarians, the blood lines had gotten somewhat convoluted through time, and many descendants of the original family had lost almost all of the original Lunarian blood. There was only one Lunarian left with enough of the original blood to help fight the Sun God's rage. That Lunarian was the great FuSoYa, political leader and warrior for their causes. Unfortunately, the Organization had it in mind to kill FuSoYa, and soon. At first, Erik politely encouraged mating between the last original Lunarian, FuSoYa, and the last Innocent, Relm, so they could continue the bloodline and keep the Sun God from taking power again (this was before she died) and FuSoYa vehemently argued against the very idea. Erik became aware of the Organization's plans and, to save FuSoYa's life, agreed to assist in the Invasion. The Invaders from the off-planet subsection of the Organization invaded the Moon with their own agendas and attacked the palace. Playing a double-agent, Erik put FueySoYa in the line of command and had a surprised FuSoYa thrown into the Lunarian prisons(he kept this from the Organization, who would have had FuSoYa assassinated had they known he still lived). This kept the Lunarians somewhat disorganized, and only organized enough to keep the Lunarian Invaders back. Erik spent much time negotiating with Mr. X in the hopes of getting Relm to the Moon so she might mate with FuSoYa and have child while she still had a chance. An unsuspecting Mr. X seemed to be perfectly fine with Erik's plans....but unfortunately had a hot temper, and killed Relm just after Craxton defeated FueySoYa on the Moon, obliterating the entire scheme. :-) With no leader, even a false one, the Lunarians became even more disorganized. Erik was resignedly aware that the days of the Lunarians were coming to an end. He and the Wind Goddess, Lehgraia, made attempts to unify the Lunarian Inner Council enough to keep the Invaders back while he spent time trying to figure out a way to save the Usenet planet from the upcoming attack of the Sun God. Soon after, during an attack by the Lunarian Invaders, the Sun God broke free of the shackles of the Moon in a limited Humanoid form, raging for the "Moon" and the "Wind" who had trapped Him for so many millenia. Erik realized the only reason the Sun God had such limited power was that FuSoYa was still alive. So, he and Lehgraia freed FuSoYa and his companions and had them flee, knowing FuSoYa was the final hope. Erik's decision, you see, was to stall the Sun God while FuSoYa fled, at the cost of his own life. Then, the Moon God could put his energies into FuSoYa's body- it stood a chance of working, though the Moon God usually had his energies put into a body at birth so as to be a complete Avatar. The Moon God had no choice after that as to what FuSoYa did and could only hope that FuSoYa found some way to defeat the Sun God for once and for all while he still could. But, if FuSoYa can not find some way to defeat the Sun God in His limited form with the help of the remaining powers of the Moon God within about four weeks, the Moon will explode and the Sun God would be allowed to continue His sinister plan to destroy the Usenet planet..... |
